Sambhal Violence: 'Additional police force deployed in violence-hit areas' - Moradabad DIG

In view of the tense situation in Sambhal after the violence, addtional police force has been deployed in the area, asserts Moradabad range DIG of Police in an Exclusive Interview with Dyanmite News. Must follow the interview:



Sambhal: On Sunday, a violent clash broke out between the protesters opposing the survey of Jama Masjid and the police here in Sambhal leaving at least four persons dead and many others, including some police personnel, injured. 

To control the situation, the administration has closed the schools up to 12th standard and suspended the internet services in the area.

Exclusive Interview with DIG
The Dynamite News Team, which is on the ground zero in Sambhal to take stock of the latest situation, spoke to Moradabad DIG Muniraj G.

'In view of the tense situation, the entire area has been converted into a cantonment. Additional police forces have been deployed in the violence-hit areas. We have conducted flag marche to restore the confidence in the people,' said DIG Muniraj G.

DIG said that DM Dr Rajender Pensiya has issued instructions to keep the schools of the district closed. The internet services have also been suspended.

'The police has started patrolling the area to control the situation,' Muniraj G added.

Digging in the mosque fueled the fire
As soon as the survey team entered the mosque, the news of digging inside spread. People were shocked to know about the team's sudden arrival early in the morning on a Sunday and got enraged by the news of digging inside.

First some people gathered around the mosque but in a short while a large crowd gathered on the roads around. The crowd started pelting stones while shouting in the narrow lanes. The police had to make a lot of efforts to bring the situation under control.
