Rupee softens 11 paise against US dollar

A higher opening of the domestic equity market capped the rupee's fall.

Mumbai: The rupee weakened by 11 paise to 64.61 against the US dollar in early trade on Wednesday.

However, a higher opening of the domestic equity market capped the rupee's fall.

On Tuesday, the domestic currency rupee had recovered some of the lost ground and advanced by 6 paise to end at 64.50 against the US dollar.

However, the benchmark BSE Sensex rose by 50.47 points, or 0.16 per cent, to 29,838.82 in the opening trade.(With PTI inputs)
