'Reports of molestation in Nagpur violence not true'

Nagpur: Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday rejected the reports of molestation in Nagpur violence, saying stones were hurled on female cops.

"Reports of molestation were not true. Stones were hurled on female police constables," Fadnavis told reporters.

He refuted the reports of molestation after chairing a high-level meeting over the violence, which was also attended by state minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule. 

"Some people, through internet spread some rumours that a holy 'chaadar' was burnt. Subsequently, rioters pelted stones, set vehicles ablaze and also damaged shops in Nagpur," he further added.
