Rayalaseema Express derails in Telangana, passengers safe

Hyderabad: The Rayalaseema Express train derailed near Sirnapally in Nizamabad district on Saturday morning.

All the passengers were reported to be safe and unhurt in the accident.

Central South Zone Railways spokesperson Uma Shankar said, "Rayalaseema express was derailed near Sirnapally. All the passengers are safely moved to Nizamabad station."

"In between Uppalvai and Sirnapalli stations on Secunderabad - Mudkhed section, two wheels of a coach of Tr. No. 12793 Tirupati - Nizamabad Express slipped the track at around 08.05 hrs today. Acting swiftly, railway authorities transshipped passengers of the train to their destination," Shankar informed.

Due to the derailment, the train traffic on the section was affected for few hours.

The spokesperson said the section is expected to be restored for normal train services by afternoon. (ANI)
