Panchkula: Clashes break out in Panchkula, after Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim convicted by specail CBI court of Harayana and Punjab high court.

Hundreds of followers of Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh clashed with police, attacked journalist and set on fire three railway station after Dera cheif convicted in a rape case. Huge violence also appeared to spread beyond Panchkula.

Ram Rahim may face up to seven years’ in jail. He was taken into custody by Western command of Indian Army. The court will announce the quantum of punishment for Dera Chief Ram Rahim Singh on Monday, August 28.

Angry and voilent followers of  Dera Sacha Sauda set on fire dozens of cars, railway stations, public properties and three media OB vans.

Earlier on in the day, thousands of hysterical followers lined up the roads from Sirsa to Panchkula, slowing down his convoy on the way to the court. Many were in tears.
