Rajya Sabha Poll: Election announced for 56 seats across 15 states including 10 seats in UP

New Delhi: Election Commission of India (ECI) on Monday announced the elections for 56 Rajya Sabha seats across 15 states including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Uttarakhand. Uttar Pradesh has the highest 10 seats.
According to Dynamite News correspondent, the voting for 56 Rajya Sabha seats across 15 states will take place on February 27.

Election notification will be issued on 8 February. The last date for nomination is 15 February. Scrutiny of nomination papers will be done on February 16 and February 20 is the last day for withdrawal of nominations.
Voting for the Rajya Sabha elections will take place on February 27 from 9 am to 4 pm. Counting of votes will start from 5 pm the same day.

States with number of vacant Rajya Sabha seats:
Andhra Pradesh: 3, Bihar: 6, Chhattisgarh: 1, Gujarat: 4, Haryana: 1, Himachal Pradesh: 1, Karnataka: 4, Madhya Pradesh: 5, Maharashtra: 6, Telangana: 3, Uttar Pradesh: 10, Uttarakhand: 1, West Bengal: 5, Odisha: 3, and Rajasthan: 3 seats.
Rajya Sabha seats of Odisha and Rajasthan are falling vacant on April 3 while seats of all other states fall vacant on April 2.
