Rajasthan: Violence breaks out in Bhilwara, police force deployed

Jaipur: The husband of Councilor Manju Devi was stabbed after a clash erupted between two communities over bursting firecrackers in Rajasthan's Bhilwara district.

According to police, one accused has been arrested in the case while the identity of others have also been established and efforts are on to nab the other attackers.

Bhilwara's Additional Police Superintendent Paras Jain said that the husband of Manju Devi, a municipal councilor, had a dispute with some individuals from a specific community. Her husband was stabbed by the members of the community, leaving him injured.

"One assailant has been taken into custody, and the identities of the remaining individuals involved have been established," Jain added. 

Heavy police force deployed

After receiving information, heavy police force have been deployed in the area.  

Following the incident, a large number of people from Hindu organisations gathered at Mangla Chowk and attempted to enter the other group's area: Police and administrative officials intervened, leading to a standoff between the police and the crowd.
Several vehicles, including three cars and an ambulance on Manikya Nagar Road, were set ablaze.
