Jaipur: Police personnel who violate traffic rules in Rajasthan will now have to pay double the fine than usual followed by departmental action.

On the Director General of Police Umesh Mishra's directions, Addl DGP (Traffic) VK Singh has issued instructions in this regard, said a police spokesperson.

Singh said that under the Motor Vehicles Act, policemen who do not wear helmets and seat more than two passengers on a two-wheeler, do not wear seat belts while driving a four-wheeler, cross the red light, drink and drive and violate other traffic rules, departmental action will also be initiated against erring police personnel

According to Dynamite News correspondent, under the new rules the state police personnel will now have to pay twice the normal fine for violating traffic rules.
