Rajasthan: Man held at Jaipur airport for smuggling gold by hiding it in rectum

Jaipur: A man was arrested from the Jaipur International Airport for allegedly smuggling gold valued at approximately Rs 90 lakh. 

According to officials, he hid the gold in his rectum. 

Accused arrived from Abu Dhabi

According to reports, Mahendra Khan, a resident of Sargaon village in Beawar district of Rajasthan, had arrived from Abu Dhabi to Jaipur by Etihad Airways flight. Customs officials had received information that Mahendra Khan was carrying gold hidden in his rectum.

Doctors removed three pieces of gold

After reaching the airport, the customs department officials did an X-ray scan and found some capsule-like shapes inside his body. After this, the officials detained him and questioned him. Later, the customs officials took him to Jaipuria Hospital located near Jaipur airport, where the doctors removed three pieces of gold from his rectum.

During interrogation by custom officials, accused revealed that he had hidden the gold in his rectum with the help of a local paramedical staff. The gold recovered from Mahendra's rectum weighed more than one kg, the estimated cost of which is said to be around Rs 90 lakh. 

A case has been registered in connection with the matter.
