Punjab: PhD student among 3 dead as car rams into divider in Mohali

Mohali: In a tragic accident, a PhD scholar at Panjab University (PU) among three were killed while one person was injured after their car rammed into a divider in Mohali district, police said on Monday.

According to Dynamite News correspondent, the mishap occurred at Bhootgarh lightpoint on Sunday night.   

The victims were going to Kuarli from Chandigarh.

The decased have been identified as as Shubham Jattwal, a PhD scholar; Saurabh Pandey, who had graduated from PU's human genome department and Rubina. 

The injured has been identified as as Manvendra, a research scholar in Forensic Science at PU.

The bodies have been sent to the Phase 6 hospital and the families have been informed.

The police have started the investigation into the incident and scanning  CCTV footage.
