According to the official statement, the joint operation was conducted based on information regarding the presence of a consignment of contraband items dropped by a drone.

During a search at about 05:40 am on Friday, troops recovered one white-coloured sack containing three packets suspected to be heroin (Gross weight - appx 2.752 Kg), along with four illuminating strips and an attached iron hook (to aid for hanging from a drone), from a farming field near Mehdipur Village, the statement said.
Earlier on August 24, in a joint operation launched by the Border Security Force (BSF) and the Punjab police in the Rajoke village of Punjab's Tarn Taran district, drugs weighing nearly 360 grams were seized, an official statement said. (ANI)
