Punjab: Bus falls into drain in Faridkot; Six killed, several injured
The injured passengers were rushed to Guru Gobind Singh Medical College and Hospital in Faridkot for treatment. Two of the injured are in critical condition. A must read on Dynamite News:

Faridkot: At least six persons were killed and several others sustained serious injuries after a private bus fell into a drain in Faridkot district on Tuesday morning, officials said.
The private passenger bus skidded off the road and plunged into a drain following a collision with a goods-laden truck on the Kotkapura-Faridkot road.
Injured To Hospital
The injured passengers were rushed to Guru Gobind Singh Medical College and Hospital in Faridkot for treatment. Two of the injured are in critical condition.
According to initial reports, the bus was overspeeding at the time of the accident.

Eyewitnesses claimed the driver lost control over the vehicle after the collision, and as a result of which, it fell from a bridge into the drain.
A rescue operation was underway. Efforts were being made to extract the bus out of the drain.
Senior officials of the district administration and police reached the spot to take stock of the situation.
Faridkot SSP
Faridkot Senior Superintendent of Police Pragya Jain said that six people, including a child, were killed when the bus fell into a ditch after colliding due to deep fog on the drain.
He said 25 people have been sent to the hospital for treatment. Two of them are in critical condition. It is being told that locals immediately reached the spot to rescue the passengers till the rescue team arrived.

Earlier Accident
In an earlier accident in Faridkot, a girl student died while two others and driver sustained injuries when a private transport company bus hit the school van bar village Kaler in district Faridkot in last December.
The deceased girl student has been identified as Ekam from Kot Sukhia village. She was studying in standard IX. The van of Shaheed Ganj public school Mudki, was taking the students to school that a bus hit it at village Kaler resulting in the death of Ekam.
The injured have been admitted at Guru Gobind Singh medical college hospital Faridkot. Faridkot Deputy Commissioner Vinit Kumar and SSP Pragya Jain reached the spot and made the cops to take the injured to the hospital. It is being said that the school van was entering on main road from some Link Road that the bus hit it
