Punjab: BSF retrieves pistol, heroin in Tarn Taran district

The Border Security Force (BSF) has recovered a pistol and a small amount of Heroin in Punjab's Tarn Taran district on Thursday. Read further on Dynamite News:

Punjab: The Border Security Force (BSF) has recovered a pistol and a small amount of Heroin in Punjab's Tarn Taran district on Thursday.

"On 11th July 2024, based on a specific information of BSF intelligence wing regarding presence of a suspected packet in the border area of district Tarn Taran, BSF troops along with Punjab Police rushed to the suspected area and carried out an extensive search operation," an official press release said.

It added that during search operation at 09:30 am, the troops successfully recovered 01 pistol body (without upper slide & barrel) and 01 empty pistol magazine wrapped in a yellow colour adhesive tape.

"A small amount of suspected heroin (less than 01 grams) was also spotted in a white polythene inside the packet. This recovery took place in a farming field adjacent to village Mastgarh of Tarn Taran district," the official release said.

Meanwhile, The Border Security Force (BSF) also recovered around 570 grams of heroin from a farming field in Kilche village in the Ferozepur district today.

According to an official release from the BSF, "On July 11, 2024, based on information by the BSF intelligence wing regarding the presence of narcotics consignments in the border area of district Ferozepur, BSF troops promptly launched an extensive search operation in the suspected area."

"During the search at about 6.15 am in the early hours, the troops successfully recovered 1 packet (gross weight: 570 grams) of suspected heroin from a farming field in village Kilche of district Ferozepur," it said. (with Agency inputs)
