Ludhiana: East Assistant Police Commissioner Sandip Singh and his gunman were killed in a midnight accident near Samrala after their vehicle collided with another that caught fire, an official said

Their driver though escaped with injuries from the Saturday night incident. Both the ACP and his gunmen were immediately rushed to separate hospitals but they succumbed to injuries.

The police said Ludhiana East Assistant Police Commissioner Sandip Singh with his Gunman Paramjot Singh, were on their way to Ludhiana from Chandigarh when a Fortuner, in an attempt to overtake, collided with their Scorpio.

The police vehicle caught fire. Locals pulled out the cops, however, ACP Sandip Singh and Gunman Paramjot Singh died.

The driver has been admitted to DMC Hospital.
