New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu, Vice- President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and other dignitaries on Monday paid floral tributes to Dr B R Ambedkar on his 134 birth anniversary at Prerna Sthal in Parliament premises.
Union Ministers Kiren Rijiju, Arjun Ram Meghwal, Piyush Goyal, Lok Sabha MP and Leader of opposition Rahul Gandhi, Congress parliamentary party chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta, and other leaders paid flora tributes.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his post on X said, "On behalf of all the countrymen, I bow down to Bharat Ratna Pujya Babasaheb on his birth anniversary."
"It is due to his inspiration that the country is dedicatedly engaged in realizing the dream of social justice today. His principles and ideals will give strength and momentum to the creation of a self-reliant and developed India," he added.
Ambedkar Jayanti is observed on 14 April to commemorate the memory of B. R. Ambedkar, Indian politician and social reformer.
Babasaheb Dr Ambedkar worked steadfast throughout his life to end social and caste discrimination against the marginalised sections of the society. From a humble beginning, he went on to become the first law and justice minister of independent India. He was awarded India’s highest civilian honour, the Bharat Ratna posthumously in 1990.
