PFC and NDMC sign ‘Implementation Agreement’ of RDSS for better power supply

New Delhi: The scheme ‘Implementation Agreement’ of RDSS was signed between New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) and Power Finance Corporation Ltd (PFC) to improve the quality, reliability and affordability of Power supply in NDMC including the proposed central vista area. 

The agreement was signed by  Saurav Shah, Executive Director, PFC and Dr. Ankita Chakravarthy, Secretary, NDMC in the presence of senior officials of both PFC and NDMC.

The Ministry of Power (MoP) has approved ‘Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme’ for the NDMC area of New Delhi with a project cost of Rs. 337 crore.

The Power Finance Corporation Ltd is the Nodal agency for the scheme.

SS Rao, Chief General Manager (PR), PFC told the Dynamite News correspondent that the RDSS scheme is aimed to create a financially sustainable and operationally efficient distribution sector. 

Rao said, under the scheme, existing distribution infrastructure will be upgraded including the replacement of old infrastructure, automation of feeders for better reliability and installation of system meters of energy accounting.
