Police busts cricket betting racket in Delhi, three held

New Delhi: Delhi Police's Crime Branch busted a cricket betting racket operating in west Delhi's Karampura area and arrested three people, officials said on Saturday. 

Besides, the crime branch officials also recovered more than Rs 22 lakh from their possession.

The accused were held while they were placing bet on the South Africa-New Zealand Champions Trophy semi-final match. 

Many betting-related items and cash, were seized during the raid, including Rs 22.62 lakh deposited in different accounts. Many other items were also recovered from their possession.

The raid was conducted following a tipp-off.

Earlier this week, the police raided a flat and arrested two alleged bookies for placing bet on India-Austraia Semi-final match.
