New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday strongly condemned the terror attack in the United States city of New Orleans, which claimed the lives of 15 people and left dozens injured.

"We strongly condemn the cowardly terrorist attack in New Orleans. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families. May they find strength and solace as they heal from this tragedy, PM Modi said in a post on X.

New Orleans Attack
A US army veteran on New Year’s day drove a rented white pickup truck into a crowd of people in New Orleans on Wednesday, killing at least 15 people and injuring dozens.

FBI
The FBI identified the attacker as Shamsud-Din Jabbar, 42, US citizen from Texas. After his massacre, he came out of the truck and resorted to firing. The law enforcement shot him dead.
