New Delhi: Parminder Chopra, Director (Finance) and CMD (Addl. Charge), Power Finance Corporation Limited has been bestowed with the prestigious ‘Icon Of The Year’ award by the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI) for her tremendous contribution to the cause of Business, Society and Nation. She is widely considered a role model in her field.
The 'Icon Of The Award' was presented to CMD Parminder Chopra by Arjun Ram Meghwal, Union Minister of Law and Justice & Minister of State for Culture and Parliamentary Affairs at an event on July 14 held in New Delhi. RK Malhotra, ED (Finance); Sanjay Mehrotra, ED (Finance); and Mohd Salim, SGM (Finance) were also present on the occasion.
Chopra is a qualified Cost Accountant and has also pursued Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management.

"In an illustrious career spanning more than three and half decades, Parminder Chopra has held various important positions in PFC since 2005 and earlier in NHPC and PGCIL. Her visionary approach, meticulous financial planning, and sound decision making have contributed significantly to PFC’s sustained growth and profitability," said SS Rao, Chief General Manager (PR).
She is playing a crucial role in financing India’s energy transition goals apart from funding power and infrastructure sectors. She is also instrumental in implementing key power sector initiatives of the Government of India including Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) and Late Payment Surcharge (LPS) rules, added Rao.
