Panaji: Union minister and North Goa Lok Sabha member Shripad Naik on Thursday said people are happy with the country's development under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and "eager" to give him another chance.
He said Modi would address a meeting in Goa before the Lok Sabha polls in the state's two seats scheduled on April 23.

The BJP is yet to announce its candidates in Goa.

After visiting a temple at Mardol village, about 20 km from here, the AYUSH minister said he would tour one Assembly segment each in the next 20 days and interact with voters.
"People who have seen the development of the country in the last five years and improvement in social indicators are eager to give another chance to the BJP. People will vote for Modi as the next prime minister,"he told reporters.
Naik said Goa was not left behind in the developmental process and its continuation was one of the poll issues.
He said resolving the mining crisis was also a priority for the BJP.

"People are suffering due to closure of mining. Once we are voted to power, we will resolve the issue on priority basis," he said.

The mining operations, a key source of revenue to the government, came to a standstill in March last year following a Supreme Court order which quashed 88 mining leases.
The BJP-led state government earlier requested the Centre to amend the existing mining laws so that leases could get extended. (PTI)
