Patna: A clash erupted between two groups of students following which gunshots were fired near the Patna Women's College. 

According to Dynamite News correspondent, the clash broke out between the group during the election campaign in Patna University.

After the incident, the students fled from the spot. Subsequently, three police personnel reached the spot.

The students of Saidpur hostel were campaigning for the elections when the firing incident took place. Fortunately, no loss of lives or injuries were reported.

Student Union Polls
The atmosphere of student union elections is hot in Patna University, and candidates of various student organizations are campaigning vigorously. Voting is scheduled for March 29, and the nomination process has been completed.

This is not the first time that such violent incidents have taken place in the University. Earlier also, incidents of firing and bombing have been reported in various hostels, which raises questions about the security arrangements in the university campus.
