Washington: Indian-origin Kash Patel was on Friday sworn in as the 9th FBI director, succeeding Christopher Wray.

After taking oath, he expressed his commitment to upholding the Constitution and ensuring the bureau's mission to protect the American people.

US Attorney General Pam Bondi administered him the oath of office at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building.
Kash Patel's girlfriend and family members were also in attendance.  

'Gob bless America'
Patel took oath on Bhagavad Gita. "Gob bless America, god bless everyone, I love this country," he said. 
Earlier, Congressman Suhash Subrahmanyam also took his oath on the Gita.
