New Delhi/ 9 February 2017. Both the Houses of Parliament was on Thursday adjourned till March 9, marking the end of the first half of the Budget Session.

The Budget Session began on January 31 with President Pranab Mukherjee's addressing the joint sitting of Parliament.

The General Budget merged with Railway Budget for the first time in the history of independent India, was presented on February 1.

The Congress, RJD and NCP earlier in the day staged a brief walkout from the Lok Sabha protesting against Prime Minister Narendra Modi's yesterday's remarks against former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.

As soon as Zero Hour started, Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge raised the issue and demanded Prime Minister Modi's apology.

Speaker Sumitra Mahajan objected to it, saying the issue is related to the Rajya Sabha and it cannot be raised here.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar also said such matter cannot be raised in this House.

Not satisfied with it, the members trooped into the well and started sloganeering and later walked out. (ANI)
