Pakistan: Shrine custodian hacks 20 devotees to death
According to officials, the accused identified as Abdul Waheed used a dagger and baton to kill all his victims
Lahore: At least 20 people were hacked to death by a shrine custodian in Sargodha, Pakistan on Friday night. The accused identified as Abdul Waheed is mentally unstable.
According to Sargodha Deputy Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chatta, the accused Waheed used a dagger and baton to kill all his victims.

Chatta said that the incident was reported by one of the injured victims who were rushed to the District Hospital in Sargodha. He said that she was one of the three survivors who managed to flee from the scene.

Taking action upon her information, a team of police personnel rushed to the shrine and arrested the suspect. At least 20 bodies were recovered from the area surrounding the shrine.
According to the official, the motive behind the crime is yet to be ascertained but people said that the suspect used to visit the area for 'spiritual sessions' with the disciples. Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has demanded an inquiry report into the incident.
