New Delhi: On the eve of the 76th Republic Day, the Centre on Saturday announced the list of recipents for the Padma Awards 2025.  Singer Arjit Singh and freedom fighter Libia Lobo Sardesai are among the recipients for the Padma Awards. 

Seven names have been announced for the Padma Vibhushan while 19 people to be received the Padma Bhushan. Besides, a toat of 113 individuals to be confored with the Padma Shri. 

Padma VibhushanIndia's second-highest civilian award, given for exceptional and distinguished service.

Padma Bhushan, It's the third-highest civilian award in the country, after the Bharat Ratna and Padma Vibhushan.

Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award in India, recognizes distinguished service in various fields.

Here is a few names of Padam Shri Awardees:

1. Libia Lobo Sardesai: A 100 year old Freedom Fighter played a pivotal role in Goa's liberation from Portuguese Colonial Rule.

2. Gokul Chandra Das: A Dhak Instrument Player from North played an imperative role in breaking gender stereotypes by training over 150 women in Dhak, a traditionally male-dominant fieldand started a women's Dhak troupe.

3. Sally Holkar: A vetetran social entrepreneur from Khargone, who devoted over five decades to revitalize the 300 year old Maheshwari handloom industry. She was inspired by Rani Ahilyabai Holkar's legacy. 

4. Maruti Bhujangrao Chitampalli: A celebrated Marathi Author, Wildlife Researcher and Conservationist from Solapur whose life's work reflects over 6 decades of an unwavering commitment to environment awareness and biodiversity preservation. 

5. Batool Begum: An eminent Maand and Bhajan Folk Singer from Jaipur specializing in Rajasthani Folk songs.

6. Velu Aasaan: A pariyar artist performing on the Parai, a traditional percussion instrument of Tamil Nadu.

7. Bhimvva Doddabalappa Shillekyathara:  An illiterate Master Puppeter of Tolgalu Gombeyaata (Leather puppetry)

Chaitram Devchand Pawar: Conserved 400 hectares of forest helping implement a Joint Forest Management (JFM) in the 1990s, and personally planted over 5,000 trees. 

9: Vijayalakshmi Deshamane:  Veteran Oncologist Surgeon from Kalaburagi dedicated her life to helping people fight cancerfor over 4 decades.

10: Pandi Ram Mandavi:  A 68-year-old master instrument maker and wood carver from Gond Muria tribe, has been bringing tribal melodies to life through his craft for over 5 decades from deep within Narayanpur.

11. Radha Bahin Bhatt: Embodiment of Gandhian values, has focused on women empowerment providing them training in valuable skills like spinning, weaving, and knitting to make them self- sufficient.

12. Suresh Soni: Founder of Sahyog Kushtha Yagna Trust in Sabarkantha in 1988 one of the few organizations in India of its kind. Dedicated over 36 years his life for care, welfare and rehabilitation of leprosy patients, intellectually disabled and divyang-jan. 

13. Joynacharan Bathari: A 84-year-old Senior-most Flagbearer of Dimasa Tribal Folk Music, the traditional art-form of the Dimasa ethnic community of North-eastern India, which is known for its rich oral music, songs & cultural expressions.

14. Nirmala Devi: Oldest Pioneer of Sujani embroidery, she has revived the traditional needle work art of Bihar, over 4 decades.
