New Delhi: One person was killed after a massive fire broke out at a warehouse in the Shakarpur area of New Delhi on Wednesday, an official said.

According to Fire Officer Darshan Kumar, as soon as the information was received, the fire vehicles reached the scene and doused the fire.

"I received a call at 5:10 AM regarding a fire, and as soon as we got the call, we immediately went to the spot.

Upon arriving, we saw that there was a significant fire, especially on the ground floor and top floor, with a lot of material inside the building.

We took immediate action and doused the fire," Kumar said.

"The roof of the building has been damaged and the building can collapse too," he added. He also said that further investigation revealed the loss of one life due to the fire.

Despite the fire being brought under control, cooling operations are still ongoing, approximately eight hours after the incident.
