Odisha: One Bangladeshi killed, 15 injured as their bus overturns near Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: A Bangladesh national was killed and 15 other passengers were injured when a tourist bus with 70 Bangladeshi passengers overturned on Sunday at Uttara Square near Bhubaneswar.

The police said that deceased has been identified as Nunibala Nath and the body was sent for post-mortem examination.

The tourist bus, travelling towards the pilgrim town of Puri, fell into a pit along a stretch of National Highway-16 at Uttara Square in the early hours of Sunday, a police officer said.

The driver of the bus fled the scene shortly after the vehicle overturned and fell into a roadside pit, the officer added.

Police personnel, along with locals, rescued the injured passengers and shifted them to Capital Hospital here. Three of the injured have been referred to AIIMS, Bhubaneswar, as their health condition is critical, the officer said.
