Odisha: 6 tourists killed, 40 injured as bus overturns in Ganjam
At least six tourists from West Bengal were killed and 40 others injured when their bus overturned at Kalinga Ghati in Odisha’s Ganjam district on late Tuesday night. Read more on Dynamite News:
Bhubaneswar: At least six tourists from West Bengal were killed and 40 others injured when their bus overturned at Kalinga Ghati in Odisha’s Ganjam district on late Tuesday night.
According to initial reports, the six people killed included four women and two men. Of 40 people injured, 30 were admitted to Bhanjanagar hospital and 15, who were critical, were rushed to M K C G Medical College and Hospital at Berhampur.

A report from Berhampur said the condition of 15 patients were stable.The tourist bus carrying over 60 passengers including children from Udhampur area of Howrah district was returning to West Bengal after visiting Daringbadi when the accident occurred.

The Bhanjanagar Police immediately reached the accident spot and started a rescue operation. Later, personnel from G Udaygiri Police station and Fire service personnel joined the rescue operation.
Though the exact cause of the accident remains known, some of the passengers have said that the bus rolled down due to break failure. (UNI)
