New Delhi: No Smoking Day is observed globally on March 13 to spread awareness about the harmful effects of smoking on one’s overall health and well-being.
The smokers are unable to quit smoking which decreases their life spans up to 13 years. Smoking 1 cigarette can decrease 11 minutes life span.
No Smoking Day 2024: History
The first No Smoking Day was observed on Ash Wednesday in 1984. It spreads the message about the harmful effects of smoking which now takes place on the second Wednesday in March every year.
It is an annual health awareness event which encourages smokers to quit smoking who are unable to. This impact of this day has been burgeoning since 1984 and observed every year since then in the United Kingdom and all across the globe.
