No NOC required for power connection in unauthorised colonies: Delhi CM

Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Atishi on Wednesday announced that No Objection Certificate (NOC) will be required in all 1,731 illegal colonies in the national capital for new electricity connections.

"Since last year, people in unauthorised colonies have been running from pillar to post to get electricity connections because the BJP-led Delhi Development Authority (DDA) last year issued an order that people in unauthorised colonies will get electricity connection only when they get NOC," Atishi said.

CM issues order
"Delhi govt has decided that no NOC will be required to get electricity meters in the 1731 unauthorised colonies. DISCOMs have been issued orders in this regard," CM further added.

The CM also claimed the AAP government has brought in development to these illegal colonies, providing them with proper drainage systems, road construction and water supply.
