Nitin Gadkari: Mahagathbandhan exists because Opposition fears BJP's growing strength

Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Monday said that the alliance is a result of opposition parties' fear of BJP getting stronger.

Nagpur: Taking a jibe at the Opposition's   Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance), Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Monday said that the alliance is a result of opposition parties' fear of BJP getting stronger.

“The Mahagathbandhan only exists because we are stronger than before,” Gadkari said.

“The opposition would never have united if we had remained weak. They knew they would not stand a chance to win if they fought the elections alone. The parties who did not even shake hands or greet each other with a smile are today walking hand in hand only because they fear our rising power,” he added.

Gadkari is BJP's candidate from  Lok Sabha. His name was announced in the first list of candidates released by BJP on March 21. He will be contesting against the Congress' Nana Patole who quit BJP to join Congress last year. (ANI)
