New Delhi: The Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery celebrated International Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Day on Thursday in collaboration with AOMSI-Delhi & NCR Chapter, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

The programme was hosted under the guidance of Dr Arundeep Kaur Lamba, Director Principal; Dr Sujata Mohanty, Head and Professor (SAG); Dr Zainab Chaudhary, Professor (SAG); Dr Pankaj Sharma, Professor (SAG).

The programme focused on the theme 'Early Detection of Oral Cancer' emphasizing the importance of awareness, prevention, and timely intervention.

Variety Of Events
 The programme included a number of events.

A glimpse of 'Walk-A-Thon'

1. 'Rise Against Cancer Walk-A-Thon' with "Walking for Hope, Strength & Cure" theme. It was a community-driven walk to promote oral cancer awareness and encourage healthy habits.  

2. 'Poster Competition' with "Fight Cancer with Every Stroke" theme. Various departments participated in the competition.   
  
3. 'Slogan Writing Competition' on the theme of "Let Your Words Lead the Way". It created awareness about power of words.
