Mumbai: A seven-month-old foetus was found in a garbage bin in Mumbai, police said on Tuesday.

A passer-by spotted the baby girl on Monday afternoon in the garbage bin of a building in Charkop area. The person alerted the police after which the police reached the spot and sent the foetus to a hospital for post-mortem.

The police are also examining the CCTV installed nearby area to get any clue about the case. 

We are investigating if there is any evidence of concealing the death of a newborn baby and disposing of the body. We are compiling a list of pregnant women in the locality as well as those who recently delivered babies," according to official.

The police said that after getting the report of the autopsy a case will be filed. (With Agency Inputs)
