Chennai court issues NBW against ideaForge

Chennai, Tamil Nadu: A Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Chennai has issued a non-bailable warrant (NBW) against Vipul Joshi, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of ideaForge Technology Limited, for failing to appear before the court and submit the required sureties. The court also reprimanded the company’s executives—CEO Ankit Mehta, Director & Vice President Rahul Singh, and General Manager Somil Gautam—for attempting to submit fraudulent sureties in a cybercrime case linked to the company.

The court had earlier directed all accused in Case No. CC 1344/2024 to appear and execute a personal bond of ₹25,000 along with two sureties of the same amount under Section 91 of the BNSS, with a compliance deadline of April 1, 2025.

While three of the accused complied, Joshi failed to appear or fulfill his legal obligations. Due to his non-compliance, the court issued an NBW, ordering his arrest and production before the court.

Additionally, the court strongly criticized Mehta, Singh, and Gautam for attempting to mislead the court by presenting unconnected individuals as sureties—an act the court termed fraudulent.
