Chandigarh: Navjot Kaur Sidhu, the wife of cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu, received Rs 850 crore notice from the Chhattisgarh Civil Society (CCS) after her husband claimed that he had treated his wife's cancer with Ayurvedic remedies and lifestyle changes.

CCS has sent the notice to Navjot Kaur Sidhu, in which she has been asked to give clarification on her claims within 40 days.
CCS Convener Dr Kuldeep Solanki said, "Such false claims are confusing people and making them think negatively about allopathic medicine and therapy. Even cancer patients are being forced to stop taking medication, increasing the risk for them. The notice also said that if Sidhu does not apologise for his statement or present scientifically proven documents within seven days, he will approach the court."
