Dynamite News Myanmar's top leader visits Indian Army Field Hospital in quake-hit Mandalay

New Delhi: Myanmar Prime Minister, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, today visited the Indian Army’s Field Hospital in quake-hit Mandalay, which has been treating injured patients and has also performed some surgeries.
The Ministry of External Affairs’ External Publicity Division released photographs of the Myanmarese General interacting with the patients, some of who were seen lying on the hospital beds with bandages.
PM Modi had held talks with the Myanmarese general in Hongkong earlier this week on the sidelines of the BIMSTEC Summit.

The Field Ambulance has been deployed as part of Operation Brahma, which India has launched to provide assistance to Myanmar after it was hit by a devastating 7.7 magnitude quake on March 28. The death toll from the quake has risen to over 3,000 so far.
Earlier in the day, an Indian Air Force C-17 plane departed for Mandalay with 31 tonnes of humanitarian aid, including replenishment stores for the Indian Army field hospital unit.
On Friday, the Chief Minister of Mandalay had visited the Indian Army Hospital, and met all the patients admitted there. The Chief Minister had also expressed his gratitude to the Indian Medical Contingent for their efforts.

On April 4, the XP Division said that the Indian Army Field Hospital in Mandalay has treated nearly 400 patients, and also conducted surgeries.
The NDRF team has been recovering bodies from under the rubble of collapsed buildings.
