Munawar Faruqui gets police protection amid threat to life

New Delhi: Stand-up comic and Bigg Boss 17 winner Munawar Faruqui has been provided police security following intelligence suggesting a threat to his life. 


According to media reports, the stand-up commedian received the threat from Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The police is working to find out more about the local inputs regarding the threat to his life.

Accused of hurting sentiments 

Notably, Munawar Faruqui has faced accusations of hurting the sentimets of Hindus from Hindu groups, a charge denied by the Stand-up commedian. 
The police has received the intelligence in the wake of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique's murder, who was shot dead in Bandra (East) on Saturday. Hours later, an alleged Lawrence Bishnoi gang member claimed responsibility for the assassination.

Faruqui leaves Delhi amid threat 

Last month too, the stanup-commedian had abruptly left Delhi for Mumbai after Delhi Police received intelligence about a potential threat to his life. Faruqui came to Delhi to participate in the 'Entertainers Cricket League 2024' event.
