Mumbai: Massive rains lash the city, traffic disrupted; Orange alert by IMD

Mumbai: The Indian Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert (heavy to very heavy rain) for Mumbai today. People are requested to avoid going out unless necessary, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation said in a statement.
Rain lashed parts of Mumbai this morning, causing waterlogging and traffic snarls in several areas of the city. Mumbai has been experiencing heavy rains for the last couple of days. According to the IMD, the city received 61.69 mm of rain in the last 24 hours.
