Mumbai: The Police on Monday registered an FIR against comedian Kunal Kamra who had allegedly made objectionable comments on Deputy CM Eknath Shinde during a show.

The police also registered a case against nearly 40 Shiv Sena workers for allegedly vandalising the Habitat Studio in Mumbai's Khar area, where Kamra's show with "gaddar" (traitor) jibe at Shinde was filmed, and a hotel where the studio is located. 

Kamra targeted the Deputy CM with the help of a parody version of a song from the film Dil To Pagal Hai.

Political Ruckus

There is a great stir in the Maharashtra political corridors over comedian Kunal Kamra's comment. A large number of Shiv Sena workers reached Unicontinental Club and vandalized it. Kunal Kamra allegedly made objectionable comments on Eknath Shinde in this club.

After the video went viral, Shinde faction leader Rahul Kanal filed a complaint against Kamra at Khar Police Station in Mumbai. The complaint alleged that Kamra made derogatory comments against Deputy CM Eknath Shinde at a live show held recently at the Unicontinental Club in Khar West.

FIR Registered

The Police on Monday registered an FIR against comedian Kunal Kamra, an official said. Shiv Sena MLA Murji Patel has filed a police complaint. An official from the MIDC police station said that based on the complaint, an FIR was registered against Kamra.

According to the official, in the nearly 2-minute video, Kamra also mocked the ruling NCP and Shiv Sena. The matter is being investigated.

FIR Against Shiv Sena Yuva

Meanwhile, an FIR was lodged against Shiv Sena Yuva Sena (Shinde faction) general secretary Rahul Kanal and 19 others for vandalising the Habitat standup comedy set yesterday. The case has been registered under various sections of BNS and Maharashtra Police Act.

Police said that Shiv Sena workers vandalized Hotel Unicontinental in Khar area of ​​Mumbai. Here Kamra allegedly mocked Eknath Shinde by calling him a 'traitor' in a show. Kamra's show was held at Habitat. 

Kunal Kamra mocked Deputy CM Shinde with the help of a modified song from the film 'Dil To Pagal Hai' during his show. Kamra also shared the video clip on the social networking platform X. 

Shiv Sena Thane MP

Shiv Sena MP from Thane Naresh Mhaske says that Kamra is a contracted comedian. But he should not have stepped on the tail of the snake. Once the fangs come out, there are dire consequences. Mhaske alleged that Kunal Kamra has taken money from Uddhav Thackeray and is targeting Eknath Shinde. He said that we will ensure that he cannot move freely across the country.

Sanjay Raut Reaction

Sanjay Raut said that Kunal Kamra is a famous writer and stand-up comedian. Kunal composed a parody song on the political scenario of Maharashtra. This angered the Shinde faction and they vandalized the studio.
