MP: Coal mine roof collapses in Betul, three killed

Bhopal: At least three employees were killed in the Pathakheda area of Betul district after a roof collapsed in a coal mine of the Western Coal Fields (WCL) on Thursday.

The accident occurred in the Chhatarpur-1 mine in the container miner section.

According to reports, the roof of the coal mine collapsed, covering a 10-meter area.

The rescue teams and ambulances were rushed to the site. The bodies of the three victims have been recovered from the mine.

Decased Identification

The deceased have been identified as Govind Kosaria (37), Assistant Manager; Ramprasad Chauhan (46); Mining Sardar, Ramdev Pandole (49), Overman.

Collector Narendra Kumar Suryavanshi and SP Nischal Jharia visited the site to take stock of the rescue operations.
