Ahemdabad: The Gujarat High Court on Tuesday refused to grant any interim protection to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in the ‘Modi surname' defamation case. Justice Hemant Prachchhak has reserved the verdict on his plea for a stay on conviction.

The Gujarat High Court was hearing a plea filed by Congress leader seeking a stay on his conviction in a criminal defamation case over his “Modi surname" remark in which he was sentenced to two years in jail by a Surat court.
