MNF all set to form government in Mizoram, ousting Congress

In the latest trend available in Mizoram, the Opposition Mizo National Front (MNF) is leading in 24 constituencies, while the Zoram People's Movement (ZPM) and the ruling Congress are leading in six seats each.

Aizwal: In the latest trend available in Mizoram, the Opposition Mizo National Front (MNF) is leading in 24 constituencies, while the Zoram People's Movement (ZPM) 
and the ruling Congress are leading in six seats each.

Two-time chief minister Lal Thanhawla is trailing in both seats he contested -- Serchhip and Champai South --- after first round of counting. In Serchhip ZPM's CM candidate Lalduhoma is leading, while MNF candidate is racing ahead in Champai South.

BJP state president JV Hluna is trailing in Tawi BD Chakma of BJP is leading in Tuichawng. Chakma was a minister in the Congress  government before switching to the BJP.

Hiphei, the former Assembly speaker who quit Congress last month to join the BJP, is  at the third spot in Palak.

Lalduhawma, the chief of the Zoram People’s Movement, a collective of seven regional parties, is leading in Scherchip constituency. (UNI)
