Tashkent: Syed Md A Razi, a senior Meghalaya bureaucrat, was found dead in his Uzbekistan hotel room. Officials confirmed the incident on Tuesday.
According to Dynamite News correspondent, Razi, an Indian Railway Traffic Service officer, was on deputation to Meghalaya since 2021. He had been in Bukhara since April 4. Authorities suspect a heart attack caused his death.

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma expressed condolences. He said Razi’s wife is traveling to Bukhara as formalities proceed.

“Deeply pained to hear about the untimely demise of Syed Md A Razi, IRTS, Principal Secretary, GoM," CM Sangma said in an earlier post on X.
“Razi’s incredible efficiency and unwavering dedication were evident in every department he handled, and he always took on each task with a level of ownership that inspired those around him. But beyond his work ethic, Razi was a warm, jolly soul who brought light to everyone he met. He was deeply loved and respected by his peers, and his absence leaves a profound void in all of us,” the Chief Minister added.
