Manipur: Ten militants arrested in crackdown on extortion, crime

Imphal: Manipur Police and security forces nabbed ten militants involved in extortion and other criminal activities across Imphal East and Thoubal districts, and recovered large numbers of arms and ammunition in separate operations, police said here on Saturday.

Manipur Police arrested four active members of KCP (PWG) from Khabeisoi 7 MR Gate Imphal East.

Another Incident
In another incident, Security Forces arrested four active members of KCP (Noyon) from the Heirok Pt-II Chingdompok area under Heirok-PS, Thoubal District.

In another operation, Manipur Police arrested an active member of UNLF (Pambei) from Nungoi Awang Leikai, near Tera Makhong under Lamlai-PS, Imphal East District. In yet another operation, a cadre of PREPAK was nabbed from Luwangsangbam, Imphal East District.

Weapons Seized
Police said in an operation at Hiyanglam, Kakching district, a single-barrel gun, a modified sniper rifle, a pistol, a hand grenade, four IEDs weighing about 4 kg and other ammunition were recovered.
