Man arrested for threatening MP Pappu Yadav, has no ties to any gang

Delhi: A man from Delhi was arrested by Bihar Police on Saturday for allegedly issuing death threats to Lok Sabha MP Pappu Yadav.

According to the police, the accused has been identified as Mahesh Pandey and he has not been associated with any gang. 

The Independent MP from Purnia had claimed that he received a death threat from a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

Accused has no link to any gang 

The police also recovered the mobile phone and the SIM card that was allegedly used by the accused for issuing the death threats to the Lok Sabha MP.

The police is investigating the matter further.

Pappu Yadav sought Z security 

Earliar, Pappu Yadav had written a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, seeking enhanced security after he received the death threat. 

He had sought 'Z' security for himself. Currently, he has 'Y' level security cover.
