New Delhi: A man allegedly shot himself dead in the Rohini area here on Thursday, police said. The deceased has been identified as Sunil Thakur, a resident of Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, police said.

On July 4 at 8:44 am, the police received a PCR call regarding a gunshot victim found in Sector 17 Rohini, the police said.
 
The local police team quickly arrived at the scene and found an injured person, approximately 25-30 years old, with a gunshot wound, lying on the staircase.

The unresponsive injured person was taken to the hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead, police said.

On preliminary inquiry, a suicide note has been recovered from the place of the incident, which is being examined, police said.

The body of the deceased has been sent for a postmortem, police said.
