MAIDS observes Road Safety Week; Doctors appeal to people 'Be safe and let others be safe' on the roads

New Delhi: Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, under the aegis of Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons of India (AOMSI) began a Road safety awareness programme on January 11. 

The Road Safety Week is being observed from 11 to 17 January. 

The programme was hosted under the direction of Dr Tulika Tripathi, Director Principal; Dr Sujata Mohanty, Head and Professor (SAG); Dr Zainab Chaudhary, Professor (SAG); and Dr Pankaj Sharma, Professor (SAG).

On this occasion, Dr Sujata Mohanty, Head and Professor (SAG), while talking to Dynamite News, appealed to the people to 'be safe and let others be safe' on the roads because every life so precious, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

Dr Zainab Chaudhary, Professor (SAG) also spoke to Dynamite News. Dr Chaudhary said that we should always drive very carefully but unfortunately if some mishap occurs, we should immediatey take the victim to the hospital without wasting any time.

Various items were presented during the celebration including a street play performed by undergraduate BDS students and interns, Road Safety video with hands on demonstration enacted by senior residents.

The programme ended with an Oath Ceremony wherein a pledge was taken by the common people reinforcing the Road Safety measures.
