New Delhi: Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Mahua Moitra on Monday moved the Supreme Court against her expulsion from the Lok Sabha last week over corruption allegations, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

Earlier, on December 8, Moitra was expelled from the Lok Sabha for ‘unethical conduct’. The development came soon after an Ethics Committee report on the 'cash-for-query' row was tabled before the Lok Sabha.

She was accused of taking bribes and "luxury gift items" from businessman Darshan Hiranandani in exchange for asking questions critical of the Modi government in Parliament.

She was also accused of sharing her log-in credentials to Hiranandani. As a result, Hiranandani could post questions directly to parliamentary website. Though Moitra denied the bribery charges, she admitted to sharing the log-in details.
