Maharashtra Polls: NCP (SP) announces 45 candidates

Mumbai: NCP (Sharad Pawar) on Thursday issued its first list of 45 candidates for the upcoming Maharashtra polls. 

The list features prominent names, including Jitendra Ahwad from Mumbra and Anil Deshmukh from Katol.

Besides, the party has fielded Yugendra Pawar from Baramati against his uncle and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. Yugendra is the son of Ajit Pawar's younger brother Shrinivas.

The state will go to polls on November 20 while the results will be declared on November 23. 

The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) on Wednesday announced a seat-sharing agreement for the state polls.

Addressing a press conference, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut said that Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT) & NCP (Shara Pawar) would contest 85 seats each in Maharashtra polls. 

Shiv Sena's Anil Desai said: "Remaining seats will be given to small friendly parties after some discussion." "Whatever remains will be divided among us," he added.
