Maharashtra: 39 women inmates at Byculla jail test positive for COVID-19

Mah: Some 39 women inmates at the Bycullah prison, including 6 children and one pregnant woman tested positive for COIVD-19, authorities said here on Sunday.
A Brihanmumbai Municipal corporation officials said "We had received complains of of severe fever among several inmates in the Byculla jail. Following which the corporation decided to undertake testing of the people in the jail in which 39 inmates were tested positive for COVID.

Out of these 36 inmates have been shifted to the COVID Centre at the Patanwala school. All patients are stated to be stable. One of these inmates who was pregnant was admitted to G T hospital for special care.
Meanwhile, the state has recorded 3276 new COVID-19 cases and 58 deaths on Saturday. The corporation is carrying out more than 40,000 test on a daily basis and positivity rate is between one per cent to 1.3 per cent, the sources added. (UNI)
